Recently, Bohai University Supercapacitor Engineering Technology Research Center has made breakthroughs in the research of lithium oxycarbon battery gradient catalytic materials. The related results "Gradient Mn-La-Pt Catalysts with Three-layered Structure for Li-O2 battery" was published online on October 12, 2016 in the internationally renowned journal "Scientific Reports". Scientific Reports is a comprehensive scientific journal under the Natrure Publishing Group. Lithium-oxygen battery is a metal-air battery using lithium metal as the negative electrode and oxygen as the positive electrode reactant. Based on the previous research, Dr. Cai Kedi proposed for the first time the ternary catalysis of manganese, lanthanum and platinum for the cathode of lithium-oxygen battery. The battery exhibited superior discharge specific capacity, energy density and long cycle life. More importantly, this work will also provide new ideas and methods for the research of other metal air batteries.
