1. The foundation of the jack. The foundation of the jack should be stable, solid and reliable. When jacks are set on the bottom surface, road wood or other suitable materials should be padded to expand the stress area.
2. The placement of jacks. When placing the jack on the soft ground, a wooden block should be laid under the jack to avoid tilting and tipping after force. When the heavy object is raised, the supporting pad must be placed under the heavy object at any time, but the hand must not enter the danger zone by mistake.
During the jack placement process, keep the load center of gravity line of action consistent with the jack axis. During jacking, the risk of jack deflection and tilt due to jack foundation subsidence or horizontal displacement of the load should be strictly prevented. In order to prevent the jack from sliding on contact with the metal surface of the heavy object or the smooth surface of the concrete, a hardwood block should be used if necessary.
3. Jacking operation. The jacking height of the jack should not exceed the effective jacking distance. When lifting large objects (such as girders), both ends should be lifted separately, one end should be lifted, and the other end must be well-stamped, firmly secured, and stable. Jacks are not allowed to be overloaded.
4. Start jacks should not be rushed. Rhythm should rise at a uniform speed and slow when descending. When multiple jacks are used at the same time, they must be operated synchronously. After the operation of the jack is completed, a careful inspection shall be carried out to check the oil pressure and hidden dangers, and shall be maintained and placed in an appropriate place.
