Overview of the economic operation of the furniture industry in the first half of 2009

In the first half of 2009, driven by a series of national policies to stimulate economic development, the furniture industry generally showed a stable and upward operating trend, with indicators such as production, sales, and profits performing well. However, due to the cold and hot external market demand, the downward trend in furniture exports continued. The import picked up before the export.

1. Analysis of production and marketing situation

(1) The output has decreased and the output value has increased by 7.7%.

According to data from the National Bureau of Statistics, from January to June 2009, the cumulative industrial output value of furniture enterprises above designated size increased by 7.71% year-on-year; the cumulative output decreased by 2.36% year-on-year. Among them, the cumulative output of the three main products of wooden furniture, metal furniture and upholstered furniture all decreased year-on-year.

In the first half of the year, the monthly total industrial output value of the furniture industry went out of the same trajectory as in previous years. The total industrial output value in February was the lowest point in the first half of the year, and began to increase month by month in March, and each month's value maintained a good growth trend exceeding the level of the same period in 2007 and 2008.

The monthly output trend of the furniture industry in the first half of the year basically showed a volatile upward trend. Production in March was a phased high. Afterwards, although it fell back in April and May, it still moved forward at a production level higher than that in February. It rebounded and rebounded in June.

(2) The output value of industrial sales increased steadily, and the connection between production and sales was good

From January to June, the cumulative industrial sales output value of the furniture industry increased by 7.92% year-on-year; the cumulative export delivery value decreased by 11.76% year-on-year, and the export delivery value accounted for 31.63% of the sales output value; the production and sales were well connected, an increase of 0.19% year-on-year.

The monthly trend of industrial sales output value of the furniture industry in the first half of the year was consistent with the total industrial output value. The output value of industrial sales also formed a bottom in February, picked up in March, maintained steady growth in April and May, and reached its highest in the first half of June.

Judging from the monthly production-sales ratio, the trend in the first half of the year was similar to that in 2008. The production-sales ratio in March decreased by 1.23 percentage points from February, rebounded to 99.44% in April, and continued to decline in May and June compared with April, and the value of June was lower than the same period in 2007, falling to 95.84%.

2. Analysis of import and export situation

(1) The export situation is still sluggish

According to customs statistics, from January to June, the cumulative exports of the furniture industry decreased by 9.38% year-on-year, which was lower than the -12.71% decline in light industry exports. The monthly export value fell sharply in February and rebounded in March, but began to decline month by month again in April.

(2) Imports stabilized and rebounded

From January to June, the cumulative imports of the furniture industry decreased by 10.31% year-on-year. The monthly import value changes are the same as the overall situation of the light industry. Except for the decline in May, the other months basically show a month-by-month upward trend, and it shows that furniture imports stabilized and rebounded before exports.

3. Benefit index analysis

From January to May 2009, the cumulative profits and taxes of the enterprises above the designated size in the furniture industry increased by 22.33% year-on-year, of which the accumulated profit increased by 23.39% year-on-year; The loss of loss-making enterprises increased by 5.45% year-on-year, and the cumulative inventory of finished products increased by 8.49% year-on-year.

Compared with the January-May period of the above-mentioned efficiency indicators, the increase in the loss of the loss-making enterprises has narrowed by 7.3 percentage points compared with January-February; the total profit and tax has increased by 1.02 percentage points, and the total profit and the inventory of finished products have decreased slightly. 1.31 percentage points and 1.98 percentage points.
