It is reported that researchers have adopted a catalyst device that can produce hydrogen while decomposing organic pollutants. The air is purified on one side of the device and decomposed on the other side of the device to produce hydrogen, which can be stored and used as a fuel. Although no specific material catalysis was mentioned, it was revealed that this catalyst was used in the past to test hydrogen in water. The researchers found that the catalyst can also extract oxygen in polluted air, even more efficiently than hydrogen in water.

At present, this battery prototype is only a few square centimeters. Researchers plan to expand the technology in the future so that this process can be used in industry, and by improving the material, the battery can use sunlight more effectively to trigger the reaction.
