Israel SolarBead has developed a plug-and-play substring photovoltaic micro-inverter. Recent tests have shown that under normal natural lighting conditions and under shading conditions, their energy production is superior to that of the string inverters and DC maximizers by 8-16%, respectively. The data obtained also surpassed any inverter in the industry.
The SolarBead micro-inverter uses a new patented hardware and software mechanism to provide a new concept for efficient energy collection to overcome the shortcomings of existing inverters. Its new architecture is based on substring micro-inverters (inverbeads) where energy is generated from the elements in the panel.
InverBead is a plug and play device whose gate voltage is generated on a single panel. Each InverBead panel runs 3 MPPTs using 2 microprocessors, so maximum energy is available from each substring, avoiding energy losses due to mismatches between substrings .
InverBead's installation is very simple. InverBead can be easily installed using a modular junction box and a curved AC repeater cable. No DC cable connection is required, and a single AC connection to the harness system can generate electricity. InverBead has a 25 year service life without failure. Do not use electrolytic capacitors.
InverBead's application is a 250-watt "grid" system. Because it does not involve high voltage DC voltage, it is an ideal application for roofs. Galvanic isolation is an inherent part of the design. Because of the invalid power control, this part can also be used for large ground equipment.
Experimental data shows that Inverbead's energy harvesting performance is better than that of the reference system: In the absence of shadows, Inverbead's energy harvesting performance is better than that of Chinese inverters and DC inverters with Chinese inverters ranging from 8% to 13%. Under other light conditions, InverBead outperformed the two reference frames by 10.7% to 15.88%.
