Vehicle Rescue Skills (Site Handling) Major Aspects of Medical Care in the Rescue Process

Because of the diversity of trauma treatment on the scene of traffic accidents around the world, we cannot fully define how rescuers should deal with the injured in the rescue process. Training, equipment and technology from around the world have very different, and we can only make some suggestions for considerations to assist in the development of medical rescue plan.

The rescue team should at least:

1. Immediately identify life-threatening and critical times and injuries and use this information to establish priorities and develop effective and feasible rescue plans.

2. Perform basic life-saving treatment measures that can sustain life until professional medical personnel arrive at the site; then provide quality information transfer.

3. Perform initial and continuous spine and pelvic lake

After ensuring the safety of the wounded, the site’s priority is the medical condition and health of the injured person. It is important to understand the key information conveyed by field health care workers. We must maintain communication between medical staff and rescue teams, and every time to update certain information. When the condition of the wounded changes, the information must be conveyed immediately.

Once initial access to the vehicle or brief information from the on-site health care provider is obtained, you must obtain the following information about the injured person:

1 , injury to the injured

Will the injured immediately have a life-threatening or (relatively) stable condition? Keep kinematics in mind.

2 , the degree of difficulty

Are the injured injured in medical or physical problems? Or both or neither?

3 , location of the injured in the vehicle

When the injured person is in the driver's seat or the back seat passenger?

4 , the location of the injured

Is the injured sitting in the driver's seat in the usual position or lying on the back seat?

We must consider these factors when formulating rescue plans and preparing to implement the fixing and rescue phases in the rescue process.

The medical condition of the injured must be observed throughout the rescue process. At the same time, the initial and continuing medical information obtained must be used to guide the rescue plan.

! Remember - there is no effective rescue plan without this information.

Rescue path

If possible, the final rescue path should allow the wounded person's head to be removed from the vehicle first. This makes it easy to control the cervical spine. However, it is important to remember that this is not always possible, field commanders should (in conjunction with information from the medical staff) rescue plan decisions that best meet the needs of the injured.

Rescue precautions:

1 , Evacuation (assisted rescue)

If it is determined that the passenger is not injured and the body is not in the vehicle, consider evacuating it from the vehicle. This action can only be considered on the advice of a qualified medical professional.

2. Dangerous area

If the injured person's body is trapped in a deformed structure of the vehicle, such as the dashboard and the steering wheel, they cannot be moved in an emergency (eg, the heartbeat stops or the vehicle catches fire), and the objects trapped in the wounded must be removed preferentially.

3 , instantly

If there is an immediate event in the casualty, such as a heartbeat stop / breath stop, the injured can be immediately removed from the vehicle and medical treatment can continue. Priorities in this case for the urgent need for medical aid patients in the car and can not be implemented, such as: chest compressions / intubation.

4 , fast

If the medical condition of the injured person is found to be deteriorating during the medical evaluation process, is it necessary to perform rapid rescue, such as rapid rescue within 5 minutes? This allows medical treatment was to continue, but must complete the rescue as soon as possible. Rescue must prioritize the clinical needs of the wounded based on rescue procedures based on gold withdrawal criteria.

5 , emergency

If the medical condition of the injured is relatively stable, we can use our preferred "gold standard" method for rescue. Where possible, the injured person should be kept in a straight (straight) state, thereby reducing the rotation of the spine / pelvis. Ideally rescue should be completed in 20 minutes or less.
