China Automobile Industry Association announced the 2013 China auto production and sales data on the afternoon of January 9. After a low-speed growth of less than 5% for two years, the national auto sales growth rate in 2013 reached 13.9%, returning to double-digit growth. At the press conference, Chen Shihua, deputy secretary-general of the China Automobile Association, said: "The production and sales volume has exceeded 20 million, breaking through the global annual production and sales record. We have reached the world's number one in terms of automobile production and sales in 2009, and have maintained the world for five consecutive years. First position."

Last year, China's auto industry developed rapidly. In addition to rapid increase in production and sales and continued market concentration, passenger cars also maintained steady growth. Among them, SUV models sold nearly 3 million units, an increase of nearly 50% compared with last year.

However, there are certain problems behind the booming development of the Chinese automotive industry. For example, due to factors such as increased market competition and weak product competitiveness, the sales growth rate of Chinese brand automobile companies has decreased, and the development situation is grim. Taking passenger cars as an example, the market share of Chinese brand passenger cars has dropped for two consecutive years.

In addition, in 2012, auto exports exceeded one million vehicles for the first time. However, due to changes in international exchange rates, appreciation of the renminbi, and depreciation of other countries' currencies, this year's auto exports have declined. The total annual export volume was 977,000 units, a year-on-year. Decrease by 7%.

For the development of the domestic automobile industry in 2014, the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers predicts that the annual production and sales volume of the domestic automobile market will be about 24 million units in 2014, with a growth rate of 8%-10%.
