Recently, a thermal insulation company in Lanzhou, Gansu Province successfully developed a new type of energy-saving insulating foam glass through the secondary use of waste glass, breaking the foreign monopoly in the field of high-end foam glass products and equipment.

According to reports, this technology uses waste glass as raw material. By improving the process parameters and equipment, adding specific oxides that can change the surface tension of glass, it solves the problems of high water absorption and poor durability of traditional building insulation materials, making foam glass products The field of application has expanded from the traditional chemical cryogenic equipment, ships, cold storage, etc., to building fire protection, energy saving and insulation projects.

Hou Wenhu, professor of the Civil Engineering Research Institute of Gansu Province, said that the technology has reached the leading domestic level.
