Europe developed a new sound wave map

Science Times, August 30, 2006: The massive noise generated by cities and towns has seriously affected the lives of local residents. These noises come not only from neighbors, nightclubs and bars, but also from industrial production, motor vehicles, trains and planes that travel on the road.

In response to EU directives to address excessive noise problems in European towns, European researchers have developed a three-dimensional computer model sonic map that uses varying colors to indicate different levels of noise. This sonic map can determine where the city's noise level is outside the acceptable range and take steps to reduce the harm these noises pose to humans. At present, an international group led by the United Kingdom has taken the lead in the first batch of sonic map project trials in Gdansk, Poland.
