In 2015, the world’s chemical fiber consumption exceeded 50 million tons

Recently, a 2009 market survey announced by the Japan Chemical Fiber Association (JCFA) revealed that the output of Japan's chemical fiber decreased, and it is predicted that the output of China and India will increase.

The survey shows that Japan’s total chemical fiber production will decline by 6% in 2009 compared to the previous year, creating the lowest level of history. The total output of Japan's nylon filament fiber, polyester, and acrylic fiber fell to 68.20 million tons. Nylon and polyester production in 2009 decreased by 34% and 33% respectively from the previous year.

The demand for fibers in the world market will grow. The association predicts that the consumption of chemical fiber will reach 53.95 million tons in 2015, an increase of 24% from the output of 43.51 million tons in 2008. The growth rate in China and India will be the highest in the world.
