According to the Australian "Daily Telegraph" reported on February 1st, the artificial intelligence researcher of the National University of Singapore has recently developed a "kissing robot" that can simulate and transmit the feeling of kissing and bring extra intimacy to distant lovers. Contact can also be used as an auxiliary device for video games.
Known as the "Kissinger," the robot is similar in shape and size to a softball. It has two built-in touch-sensitive lips that can detect and replicate the feeling of a couple kissing. Researcher Hooman Samani said that in addition to addressing physical contact needs between couples in remote locations, the device can also be connected to the virtual world to add new dimensions to the game. Samani said: "When playing games, humans can kiss virtual characters, of course, can also accept the kiss of the virtual characters."
Researchers believe that this robot will make the relationship between people and robot more intimate. Samani said: "Kissing is one of the most important ways for human communication. The connection of the lips can express many positive deep emotions, such as affection, respect, greetings, blessings, farewell, romance, and sexual desire."
Samani and others also developed the second robot, called "Mini-Surrogate," which can capture sensors, speakers, and microphones through motion, as well as human voices and movements, such as waving.
