In the first half of the year, the loss of the thermal power industry rose to 43.36%, an increase of 3.10 percentage points over the same period of the previous year, and the losses in all provinces in the central region exceeded 50%. The overall profit margin of the power industry is only low at 3.50%, which is 2.53 percentage points lower than the national average of industrial sales profit margin. The power supply industry is particularly evident, with a sales margin of only 2.28% and a thermal profit margin of 3.92%.
The China Electricity Council recommends that, in accordance with the principle of simultaneous linkage of thermal coal prices, on-grid tariffs and sales tariffs, it is particularly necessary to address the unreasonable on-grid tariffs in various regions, especially in the eastern provinces of Shandong Province and most of the central and western provinces.
