The losses of thermal power in the central provinces are serious. The main reason is that the power grids of Hangkou Power Plants in Henan, Shanxi and Anhui have been low. In the first half of the year, the loss of the thermal power industry rose to 43.36%, an increase of 3.10 percentage points over the same period of the previous year, and the losses in all provinces in the central region exceeded 50%. The overall profit margin of the power industry is only low at 3.50%, which is 2.53 percentage points lower than the national average of industrial sales profit margin. The power supply industry is particularly evident, with a sales margin of only 2.28% and a thermal profit margin of 3.92%.

The China Electricity Council recommends that, in accordance with the principle of simultaneous linkage of thermal coal prices, on-grid tariffs and sales tariffs, it is particularly necessary to address the unreasonable on-grid tariffs in various regions, especially in the eastern provinces of Shandong Province and most of the central and western provinces.
