In production, some parts with high linear dimensions between internal and external steps are often encountered (Fig. 1). For such parts, the c size cannot be measured by the usual method. Therefore, the two dimensions of a and b are indirectly guaranteed, according to the principle of size chain conversion. It is not economical or scientific to increase the manufacturing difficulty of the two dimensions a and b. We have explored a method for directly measuring the c size.
