The foundation of the largest aluminum processing base in southeast China

It is expected that after the project is completed and put into operation in 2010, it will annually produce over 350,000 tons of high-precision aluminum sheet, becoming one of the highest-level high-precision aluminum strip processing enterprises in the world today.

The largest aluminum processing base in Southeast China, Chinalco Ruiqi High-precision Aluminum Strip Project was laid on June 6th in the Fuzhou Economic and Technological Development Zone. It is expected that after the project is completed and put into production in 2010, it will annually produce over 350,000 tons of high-precision aluminum sheet, becoming one of the highest-level high-precision aluminum strip processing companies in the world today.

The project mainly produces alloy products that currently possess strong advantages in Ruiqi Aluminum. The main varieties include PS plate base materials, aluminum foil blanks, decorative strips, belts for electronic products, and transportation aluminum.

The chairman of the China Nonferrous Metals Industry Association, Kang Yi, said: “The completion of the Chinalco Ruiqian high-precision aluminum strip project is expected to resolve the long-term reliance on imports from China's high-precision aluminum strip.”

Chinalco Ruiqi High-precision Aluminum Strip Project is another major project of Aluminum Corporation of China in the development of aluminum processing and layout. Previously, China Aluminum Corporation has invested in Chongqing and Henan respectively to form China Aluminum Aluminum Southwest Belt Co., Ltd., China Aluminum Henan Aluminum Processing Co., Ltd., and established Lanzhou Aluminum Industry in Lanzhou Holdings; the investment and construction of this project is December 2004. Aluminum Corporation of China entered the "Fujian Ruiqi" another important measure after the establishment of "China Aluminum Ruiqi." The entire project main equipment was imported from abroad, and the total investment exceeded 2.7 billion yuan.

Xiao Yaqing, General Manager of Aluminum Corporation of China, said: “Chinalco's investment in the construction of high-precision aluminum strip products in Fujian will give full play to the geographical advantages of the Yangtze River Delta, Pearl River Delta, and Linhai port adjacent to China's high-precision aluminum strip products. Make full use of Raychem's excellent aluminum sheet processing technology and management foundation to adapt to market demands.”

The reporter was informed that the project has also led the development of related supporting aluminum processing industries in Fujian Province. Already, nearly 10 enterprises have initially established factories in the surrounding areas of Fuzhou to support the project.
