The invention of micro-thermothermal generators can turn heat into sonic power generation

Scientists at the University of Utah in the United States have taken another step toward acquiring alternative energy sources: they have developed a tiny device that turns heat into sound waves and turns them into usable electricity.
According to a recent report by the British "New Scientist" website, scientists have been understanding for decades that they can turn heat into sound waves using a simple device called a "hot sonic machine." But until recently, scientists at the University of Utah succeeded in miniaturizing such devices. This device can be used in power plants, automobiles, computers, and even a new generation of solar cells.
The principle of the "hot sonic machine" is to conduct heat through a copper plate to a material such as glass wool, and then dissipate the heat to the surrounding air. This flow of hot air produces a single-frequency sound wave that can be generated using this acoustic wave to oscillate the piezoelectric electrode.
Most existing generators are large and inefficient, making it difficult to match small appliances such as computers. The "hot sonic machines" developed by scientists at the University of Utah are only 1.8 mm long. If multiple "hot sonic machines" are integrated, they can generate 1 watt of electricity per cubic centimeter.
Scientist Oreste Simco said: "The device looks very hopeful (in practical use). However, there is still a lot of work to be done right now."
Scientists at the University of Utah plan to test the micro "thermothermal heat engine" for another year and then try mass production. If all goes well, the device will be expected to be installed first in a natural gas or coal-fired power plant.

Diamond Drill Bit

Diamond drill bits include many types of drilling tools, such as electroplated diamond dilling bits, metal bonded diamond or CBN drilling bit or core drill bits.

If you would like to drill through hard materials such as Glass, Stone, pebbles, Precious and Semi-Precious stones, Ceramic, Tile, Glazed Pottery, Shell, Bone or Fossils, then you will need to use a diamond drill bit. We offer a complete range for use with your rotary tool. Diamond Core Drills allow good circulation of water and will stay cooler whilst drilling. A core drill will cut more quickly than a solid drill since it is only cutting out a small circle of material.

Kemei produce and aim on different types of grinding tools, such as aluminum oxide grinding wheel, silicon carbide grinding wheels, mounted points, Diamond Grinding Wheels, CBN Grinding Wheels and wheel dressers.

If you need any type of grinding tool or professional advice about grinding on your workpieces. Don`t hesitate to contact us!
