First, the common tools and choices for CNC lathes

1, commonly used tools for CNC lathes

The knives used on the CNC lathe have external turning tools, drills, boring tools, cutting knives, threading tools, etc. Among them, the outer turning tools, boring tools and drill bits are most commonly used.

The turning tools, boring tools, cutting knives and thread cutting tools used in CNC lathes are divided into welding type and machine clamping type. In addition to economical CNC lathes, machine-clamps are widely used, which are mainly made up of cutter bodies. The blade and the blade pressing system are composed of three parts, as shown in the figure, in which the blade is generally made of a carbide coated blade.

2, tool selection

In actual production, the numerical control turning tool is mainly determined from the tool sample in the tool installation size, workpiece material, processing type, processing requirements and processing conditions of the CNC lathe rotary tool holder. The steps are as follows:

(1) Determine the workpiece material and processing type (outer circle, hole or thread);

(2) Determine the grade and geometry of the blade according to the requirements of roughing, finishing and processing;

(3) Select the tool holder according to the size of the tool holder, the type of blade and the size.

Second, the tool installation

After selecting the appropriate blade and the arbor before, first install the blade on the arbor, then install the arbor on the rotary turret in turn, and then check the tool installation size through the tool interferogram and the machining stroke diagram.

Third, matters needing attention

Pay attention to the following issues during tool installation:

1. Ensure that the arbor and blade positioning surface are clean before installation, without damage;

2. When installing the tool holder on the tool holder, ensure that the direction of the tool holder is correct;

3. When installing the tool, pay attention to making the tool tip and so on higher than the center of rotation of the spindle. (end)
