Comprehensive media reported on April 7 that the latest report released by the American Aluminum Association showed that US primary aluminum production increased by 7.2% year-on-year to 1,819,290 tons in February, up from 1,697,850 tons in February 2010, compared with 1,784,850 in January. The ton increased by 1.9%.
According to the association, actual production in February was 139,562 tons, up from 130,246 tons in February 2010, but lower than the 151,590 tons produced in January.
The average daily production in February increased to 4,984 tons, compared with 4,652 tons in February 2010, up from 4,890 tons in January.
The Aluminum Association said that the companies involved in the survey accounted for 100% of US primary aluminum production.
